Dear Færie Family,

 This is your call to the Alfheim Færie Summer Gathering in Vordingborg Denmark. Come, and let us grow our roots and our community with all queer spirits in the ancient home of the færies. 

Alfheim is the mystical place where the light elves, or faeries live. Like the faeries, Alfheim is elusive. In the mythologies sometimes called Norse, it is described as a luminous place. It is a place of creation and of blooming. It is place of joy, healing and mischief. It is place to connect with the land, with spirits and with our ancestors. To find it, we must climb the world tree and look for it among the nine worlds. If you hear music or laughter, you are on the right path.

We can also reach it by using our imagination. So let’s imagine Alfheim! Let us create mythologies, let us tell stories and inspire each other. Together, let us explore what happens when we choose community– and let the tribe and our shared wisdom strengthen our spiritual bonds.

In Alfheim we will all gather around the long table and we will share stories, rituals and music. We will deepen our bonds with other beings. We will celebrate the seasons and those who came before us. Alfheim is a world of its own where we can leave the distractions of the other worlds behind and be present together. To encourage joy and connection, this gathering is a place for naked bodies to run free, to frolic and to find each other in sensual and spiritual embraces.

The place for the gathering is the same cosy country house near Vordingborg next to the beach where we have gathered the last three years. We will inhabit the house in the style of færie co-living with a communal sleeping area and a living area along with a drag room and even a friendship room. We will also have ample space for tents in the prærie.

Bring along your stories, your home-made recipes and your passion for cleaning and cooking together. Bring music instruments whether you play them or not. Bring your longing for everyday rituals, your best dish dancer outfit and your true heart. Be open to share, to listen, and to embrace all our differences and our connections.

In Alfheim we invite you to experience the gift of profound presence. Therefore, we ask everyone to respect that this gathering is free of electronic distractions. It is a world without phones, without screens, without electronic music. We will create the magic, the community and the music with our hands, our hearts and our voices. To stay present, we also note that this is a sober gathering without alcohol or substances. If you have personal reasons for bending the guidelines on electronics and substances, you must do so in private and away from communal activities.
